I was thinkin about this post I made a while back (oh god, it looks so gross now), and thought that, since my style and Eclypse have changed so much since then, I’d try my hand at a Spyro-fandom-styled Eclypse again. I tried to add in the typical anatomical/design mistakes I’ve seen in the Spyro/dragon fandom, such as I did w/ that old post, but it turns out I have a VERY hard time purposefully making mistakes in a drawing w/o having drawn it correct or in my own style beforehand, so the first one up there is the Spyro-fandom-styled version that I would prolly actually would draw her in, if I ever wanted to draw her in this style regularly
below is the joke Spryo-fandom-styled version, w/ all the possible mistakes I could possibly fit in (w/o straying too far from her base design, of course— hence the lack of belly scales and other details that would be considered mistakes). IE- if I had gotten into Spyro during my early drawing days, and subsequently designed Eclypse during that time (my main dragon/style inspiration sprouted from Neondragon, so my shit art of years ago is very different from the shit art of years ago from dragon artists who were inspired by Spyro)

some things were added in this design that aren’t in the top design, but aren’t anatomical mistakes, though were things that I’ve always ALWAYS seen on Spyro-styled-dragons (like the claws— I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Spyro fan character w/o claws). the mistake here is that these designs aren’t rly thinkin outside the box, so they share all these same, “typical Spyro features”
anyways, this was a p fun exercise, I may try to emulate more styles in the future

derma dragon that tears out their scales and picks at the skin under them
everyone thinks that their scabs, gashes, and scars are from vicious battles, so everybody avoids them for fear of injury. it’s a good setup for a dragon w/ (social) anxiety problems, so they feel no need to dispel the rumors
